Handmade crafts includes numerous endeavors, acts and concerns that are linked with creating objects with the help of the hands and of course skills. Some crafts have been polished for many years. While other were adapted and begun from certain geographic areas.

Handmade crafts require a combination of skills, eagerness, and persistence. However, you don't have to worry if you lack one of the things listed above because crafts can be mastered by almost anyone. Many schools and community centers offer classes, workshops and trainings on basic craft skills.

Most of these crafts also become the latest trends that rapidly spread among the crafting population since everybody tries to follow or imitate the first examples. However, there will come a time when their popularity fades until it will be revive later.

Arts and crafts also pertain to the Arts and Crafts Movement which originated in the late 19th century. It is a design reform and social movement pioneered by the principles of William Morris and John Ruskin. They have considered that in the pre-industrial societies like in the European Middle Ages, citizens had acquired satisfaction through the artistic process of producing crafts.

This term also pertains to the results of artistic thinking or creations using different materials such as glass, ceramics, textiles, metals and wood. These crafts were made within a certain community of practice. Although they in a way differ from the crafts made within the communities, the boundaries often combined leading to mixed handcrafts.

Some people may perceive crafted objects as art objects especially when these objects are seen within the context of art, like in a museum, galleries, online art galleries and even in prominent houses.

In addition, a lot of artists are now open into the idea of “sell my art” unlike before that a lot of them are only doing it as a hobby.
